Over the last 3 years of competing, I've worked with 5 amazing posing coaches. Too many you think? Why haven't I stuck to just one? Because all of these posing coaches have a unique set of skills and experience that have ALL helped my journey as a bikini competitor. Plus I've been competing for 3 years with 3 different federations - Miami Pro, UKBFF and NPC / IFBB Pro League, with each having their own rules for posing. A lot of hard work goes into your final package on stage, therefore don't risk it with poor presentation.
Here are 5 coaches that I highly recommend:
Audrey was my very first posing coach who taught me all the basics: walking in highs heels with ease like a catwalk model, stage presence, confidence and quarter turns. I've attended 2 group courses (4 weeks each) with her in 2016 and 2017. She simply transformed me from a shy body conscious girl to a sassy stage confident woman. Audrey teaches a lot of psychological tricks that make you come out of your shell. We've also done groups exercises with her male posing students, which were challenging but it all prepared us for the 'real life' stage experience. My favourite part was the Mock Show, where we had our nerves testes and were judged by her fellow students. And because it is a group course, you'll make some great friends too!
Apart from group courses, Audrey offers individual and online coaching too suitable for all federations.
Leonard St Cyr
Lenny has been a part of the fitness industry for over 30 years with a wealth of experience. IFBB Pro bodybuilder, a judge, posing and prep coach and more. I had a posing session with Lenny in 2017 because I was struggling with UKBFF's strict posing rules and doing quarter turns. He was very patient, showed me some great tips for the back pose and lat spread. Lenny has also given me the physique feedback and prep advice, which I found very valuable. Don't be fooled that you need a woman to learn from when it comes to bikini posing, as a Pro bodybuilder Lenny knows exactly how to create smooth and graceful transitions that catch judges eyes.
I first had a massive girl crush on Alla when I saw a video of her posing routine for UKBFF's Grand Prix 2016, it was just breathtaking!! Watch it here. I had 2 posing sessions with Alla in London in 2017: 1 group one and 1 individual session. Alla has shared her stage presence secrets, as well as tips on choosing the right bikini, creating the perfect 'full package' look with hair and make up plus her experience of becoming an IFBB Bikini Pro via UKBFF. Meeting Alla was very motivating to me as she has 2 children, stays in amazing shape all year around and has such beautiful strong character, she's someone I truly admire.
Emma is a master of posing, no wonder she is called the Posing Pro! She has been a professional dancer for 10 years, NABBA world champion, online coach and a personal trainer plus PCA official judge. Emma was the one who taught me that perfect back pose where your hamstrings pop and your glutes look the best. She's straight to the point yet kind and supportive, definitely one of the most genuine people in the fitness industry. One of Emma's best tips is to start learning and perfecting your posing routine as early as possible, especially in the off season. I had 2 individual posing sessions with her this year and will be coming back for more!
Lauren Dannenmiller - IFBB Bikini Pro
Lauren is based in Florida, USA, and we had a great posing consultation via Skype this year. I was very keen to hear her feedback, as I've never competed with NPC / IFBB Pro League before. This federation requires only 2 poses: front and back. I loved that Lauren was very open and honest during our video call. Not only she gave me some insights about NPC, what the judges are looking for, but also great tips about overall presentation and mindset of a champion. I really relate with her posing style as it is classy and elegant. Lauren encourages to be yourself instead of copying others, otherwise you won't stand out and look awkward.
