4-5 gym sessions a week - that's a lot of fitness laundry. When it comes to choosing the right leggings, my top priorities are 1) squat safety i.e. non-sheer fabric 2) fit 3) durability
Say hello to my current favourites that have stood the test of lunges and many many washes.
The best part of these leggings is the unique design with a skirt attachment. The modesty intent behind the idea is very relatable to women who want extra protection/less attention during the workouts. Walking around the city in Fuso-Saia leggings will give you a comfort of concealing your private parts. I think we all can relate to feeling more comfortable with a sweatshirt tied around the waist, especially during the special days...! Please note that Fuso-Saia leggings aren't suitable for yoga as they have restriction on certain movements.
You can't go wrong with black leggings and I love the twist with asymmetrical white stripes. Brazilian design is particularly flattering for hourglass or pear-shaped women, where you're bottom heavy with a smaller waist.
Another monochrome option by new fitness brand by Beyonce - Ivy Park. These leggings are the ONLY leggings I recommend from the whole range. Yes, I've tried every other pair, and yes, they simply didn't work for me.
The Colour Block leggings have a comfortable flattering fit and durable fabric - the white blocks have stayed bright after many washes.
Gym Shark's crew stepped up with their leggings and these Slate Blue ones have one of the nicest fabrics and features. Side pockets, front pockets, mesh all along - I think it's a winner in many ways. The best part is that it takes a really long time to sweat through them and stain the light fabric.
Kyodan has been my favourite brand for non-sheer squat proof leggings for 4 years now, the only tricky thing is that they don't have their own online store. Try looking online or at your local TK Maxx /TJ Maxx as they are always stocked in the sportswear section.
